🔒 Zero Data Retention Architecture

PRIVACY POLICY

PaycheckRights is built on a strict privacy-first foundation. Your wages and hours are nobody else's business.

At A Glance: Absolute Client-Side Privacy

When you enter your hourly rate, salary, deductions, or overtime hours into PaycheckRights, that data is processed solely in your device's browser memory. It is never transmitted to our servers, never saved to a database, and never sold to third parties.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

Because our mathematical calculation engine is written entirely in client-side JavaScript, we do not receive or record:

  • Your hourly wage rate or annual salary figures.
  • The number of regular, overtime, or double-time hours you work.
  • Your marital status or tax filing category.
  • Your accrued PTO or vacation balance numbers.
  • Your employer name, job title, or physical work location.

2. Server Logs & Edge Hosting

PaycheckRights is served via modern edge delivery networks (such as Cloudflare). Like all internet websites, when you request a page (such as /california), edge servers temporarily log standard network diagnostic information:

  • Your browser type and operating system user-agent.
  • The URL path requested and HTTP status code.
  • Anonymized IP addresses for DDoS protection and security telemetry.

These logs contain zero payload information from the calculator and are purged periodically according to standard edge network retention policies.

3. Cookies & Local Storage

We do not use invasive tracking cookies or third-party behavioral profiling trackers. Optional UI preferences (such as your chosen pay frequency or active calculator tab) may be saved locally in your own browser's localStorage purely to remember your preferences between page refreshes. You can clear this anytime via your browser settings.

4. Contact Us

If you have questions about our privacy architecture, you can contact the project maintainers via our public GitHub repository at github.com/Ahmed5422/paycheckrights.
