Under California Labor Code Section 510, non-exempt employees must be paid 1.5 times their regular rate of pay for all hours worked beyond 8 up to 12 in a single workday, and for the first 8 hours on the 7th consecutive workday. Hours worked beyond 12 in a single day are compensated at double time (2.0x).
